A beef curry in Goan style, with green chilies and dried red chilies for a spicy twist.
Ingredients
01. Beef - 1 kg02. Oil - 200 ml
03. Onions (chopped) - 100 g
04. Tomatoes (chopped) - 100 g
05. Green chillies - 2 g
06. Red chillies (dried and chopped) - 2 g
For the Marinade
07. Salt - as required08. Vinegar - 100 ml
09. Ginger paste - 50 g
10. Garlic Paste - 50 g
11. Clove - 2 g
12. Cinnamon - 2 g
13. Cumin seeds - 2 g
14. Turmeric powder -2 g
Preparation
01. Take the uncut meat piece and make large slits or gashes on it with a sharp knife.
02. Make a paste with salt, vinegar, ginger paste, garlic paste, cloves,
cinnamon, cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Leave it to marinate
overnight in the refrigerator.
03. The following morning, heat oil
in a large pan and saute the onions. To this, add the tomatoes, green
chillies and dried red chillies and continue to sauté well.
04. Add the marinated beef to the pan and fry till it turns golden brown on both sides.
05. Keep closed and leave to cook on a slow fire till water seeps out of the beef.
06. Next add 500 ml of hot water and allow it to cook till tender. Check for the seasoning and add more if required.
07. When it cools, remove the beef from the masala and slice it into thin pieces.
08. Pour the prepared masala over the beef slices and serve with Goan bread.
